TL1 Scholar Dr. Martha Dee Gay receives Science Writer Fellowship from Georgetown Medicine Magazine

GHUCCTS TL1 scholar Dr. Martha Dee Gay in her lab, looking at resultsTL1 Scholar Dr. Martha Dee Gay is the recipient of a 2020 Science Writer Fellowship from Georgetown Medicine Magazine, a biannual publication that features health and medical education, research, and clinical news for alumni and friends of Georgetown University School of Medicine and Medical Center.

Her writing, Life in the NASH Lane, is published in their Spring/Summer 2020 edition.

Dr. Gay is a translational scientist at Georgetown University Medical Center in the Division of Gastroenterology.

GHUCCTS funds six new pilot projects, including four that address the current COVID-19 pandemic

After a competitive application cycle, GHUCCTS has selected 6 new pilot projects to be funded for 2020-2021. The Pilot Translational and Clinical Studies program (PTCS) has been a critical and effective stimulus for collaboration that has inspired the development and implementation of new clinical and translational research projects. The PTCS program is designed to bring about further advances that will improve the process of research throughout our CTSA hub and the national CTSA consortium. These contributions will draw upon a range of GHUCCTS capacities from community-based recruitment of underserved populations to the use of high-performance computing in the development of therapeutic agents. Four of the six selected pilot projects will focus on COVID-19 and the current pandemic.

The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) has launched a new course module titled "COVID-19: Back to Campus (Fall 2020)". Complete all three required modules while meeting the score requirements to earn the certificate.
