Research Grand Rounds: Addressing Misdiagnosis of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) in Women: A Systems Engineering Approach

This event will be held, virtually, Friday November 5th, 2021, from 12:00 PM - 1 PM EST. Presentation from Dr. Kristen Miller.

Dr. Kristen Miller serves as Scientific Director of the MedStar Health National Center for Human Factors in Healthcare, Associate Professor at Georgetown and Adjunct in Biomedical Engineering at Catholic University. Dr. Miller is a clinically oriented human factors researcher, whose NIH, AHRQ, NSF, ONCHIT, and FDA supported research focuses on medical decision making, informatics, and the assessment of medical interventions. She will share her team’s systems engineering approach, in their active AHRQ-funded project, to improve the accurate, timely, and effectively-communicated diagnosis of CVD in women in
order to develop innovative solutions to address the persisting healthcare inequity due to sex and gender differences in CVD diagnosis in ambulatory care.
