GITVC Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Screening, Quality of Life and Health Equity.

GITVC Presents: Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During this important Breast Cancer Awareness Month, please join us to learn about the importance of breast cancer screening, quality of life post-treatment and health equity initiatives. We’ll also discuss the legacy of Henrietta Lacks and how she influenced cancer research, as this month marks the 70th anniversary of her passing.

This event will be held, virtually, on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST.

This month's Research Grand Rounds features Amanda M Fretts, PhD, MPH, who is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology in the Cardiovascular Health Research Unit at the University of Washington School of Public Health. Dr. Fretts will discuss "Better Understanding Diet, Physical Activity, and Cardio-Metabolic Health in American Indians."
The Entering Mentoring seminar, developed by the Wisconsin Program for Scientific Teaching at the University of Wisconsin  - Madison, engages research mentors in activities that develop effective mentoring practices. This workshop is an adaptation of that original curriculum for clinical and translational researchers.
