2025-2026 KL2 Mini-Symposium Program Expanded - Applicants now being accepted!

What & Who: The Georgetown-Howard Universities Center for Clinical & Translational Science (GHUCCTS) is expanding our successful mini-symposium program beyond KL2 scholars by offering translationally-focused early-stage investigators (ESIs) from our hub institutions the opportunity to organize mini-symposia, tailored to their own research interests but accessible to a broad, multidisciplinary audience.  Goals are to increase internal and external networking, build new collaborative and mentoring relationships, increase local recognition of multidisciplinary translational research and highlight translational science principles across our multi-institutional CTSA Hub.

Past events have been ½ day symposia, with (at least) presentations by an invited keynote speaker and the ESI but also including other invited or short talks, panel discussions, or interactions.  While all events are face-to-face, at least the main talks will be also be livestreamed.  The mini-symposium events can be also leverage departmental meetings or seminars, research group meetings, or networking/collaborative activities.

  • Must have a full-time faculty (or equivalent) appointment at a GHUCCTS institution (Georgetown University, Howard University, MedStar Health, or Oak Ridge National Lab,) at the time of award.
