Treating Thyroid Cancer with Radioactive Iodine

GHUCCTS in the (Virtual) Community aims to promote clinical research awareness, diversity in research, and community-engaged research through virtual outreach efforts that will be held monthly. Our June session will cover "Treating Thyroid Cancer with Radioactive Iodine". 
Join us to learn more about the unique and powerful treatment of radioactive iodine on various thyroid cancers. A treatment that can reduce the recurrence and mortality rates in thyroid cancer patients. We will also be discussing how to find a clinical trial for those interested in participating in research for any health condition.

Guest Speakers:
  • Jane Otado, PhD, is an Associate Director, REKS, GHUCCTS, CTSA at Howard University in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.
  • Jacqueline Jonklaas, MD, is a professor in the endocrinology division at Georgetown University and is the director of the Georgetown Clinical Research Unit.
  • Allison Moses is the Manager of the Clinical Research Systems and Recruitment Center Medstar Health Research Institute (MHRI). She is also Chair of the MHRI Wellness Committee, and Co-Chair of MedStar Research AIDE at MHRI.
