GHUCCTS KL2 Scholar Dr. Matthew Edwardson will present on how stroke affects African-Americans. He will also discuss ways to recognize signs and symptoms of stroke, and the time sensitive nature of receiving stroke treatment. Additionally, Dr. Edwardson will share information on his stroke study with the goal to develop better treatment for stroke in the future.

The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) is hosting a two-day, virtual workshop on "The Role of Work in Health Disparities in the United States Workshop". This workshop will promote multidisciplinary health disparities research by convening experts from the research fields of health disparities, population sciences, labor economics, occupational health, epidemiology, and organizational sociology and psychology to consider work as a social determinant and identify potential mechanisms and interventions to address health disparities.
Insights to Inspire 2020 highlights those hubs who have made improvements in their Careers in Clinical and Translational Research metric. The third webinar in this series focuses on the application and screening processes used by the presenting hubs.
