Cultural and Linguistic Competence (CLC) mitigates long-standing under representation of diverse racial and ethnic groups in clinical research relative to their proportion of the population and their disease burden. This presentation will:

  1. Explore the multiple dimensions of culture and relevance for clinical research.
  2. Introduce a framework for cultural competence at the individual and organizational levels.
  3. Discuss the implications of CLC in all phases of clinical research.
